Several creeklets and clearings can distract you from the overgrown trail in this area - pay close attention on your way up. This hike from the campsite takes approximately 5 hours round trip which does not leave enough time if you are trying to do the entire trip from the parking lot to the lake in one day. This canoe and hike combo takes you from Pitt Lake in Pitt Meadows to Widgeon Falls, a glacial waterfall that’s only accessible to the public by water. The portage trail starts just west of the creek inflow, and it’s a tough one: over 500 m long with several uphill sections for a total elevation gain of 40 m. The hike itself isn’t too difficult, making this a fun, full-day outing for families. Did 2 nights, and camped one night at Widgeon falls, and the next night at Widgeon Lake. Don't recommend taking our route asking the old trail to the Falls, stay on the main path/old logging road. The rest of the way to the lake is sheer uphill.
